August MIELKE married Sophronia JAMES on July 16, 1876, in bloomingville, Ohio.

Sophronia JAMES was born in 1851 or 1852 in Bloomingville. She is the daughter of Henry JAMES and Abigail DAVIS JAMES, of Bloomingville, Erie County, Ohio. Sophronia's father died in 1878, her mother in 1887, with both buried in Bloomingville Cememtery. Henry JAMES had traveled from Ireland to the USA in 1807.

Sophronia and August Mielke were married July 16, 1876, in Erie Co, Ohio. The marriage license of August MIELKE & Sophronia JAMES is recorded in the Erie County Courthouse.

In 1880 August & Sophronia and their childred were living in Sophronia's mother's house, along with her mother, Abigail DAVIS JAMES. This was two years after the death of Sophronia's father, Henry JAMES.

August & Sophronia MIELKE had seven children

The land where August and Sophronia lived is about 7 to 8 miles south of Sandusky, Ohio, east of Ohio Route 4 and Mason Road (county road 13), located at the site of Bloomingville, on Mason Road.

Sophronia died in 1904. August Mielke died in 1937.
